My songs are influenced by the following genres: indie, folk, punk, alt country and post hardcore, but I am also open to experimenting with genres like blues, jazz and bluegrass. Good pop sensibility is something I always have on hand. Some of the influences that we incorporate into this project are Owen, City and Color, Bruce Springsteen, Iron and Wine, Dashboard Confessional, Nickel Creek, Damien Rice, Elliot Smith, Pete Yorn, Brazzaville, Richard Shindell, Nick Drake, Ryan Bingham, Sun Kil Moon....you know, those sort of artists. I tend to bring other influences like Brand New, Modest Mouse, Jimmy Eat World, Cap'n Jazz and any band that spun off of them into the mix. I'm also the singer in a post hardcore band from Norfolk, but Willow Station is my personal baby that I started two years ago (back when I still lived in Pennsylvania) and I really want to do something special with it.
