Breakdown:
"Freeman"
Based on Dr. Walter Freeman, pioneer and evangelist of lobotomies in America in the 1930s-60s. Throughout the play, Freeman tells the story (in a series of monologues) of how he came to develop the procedure and where it eventually led him, revealing details of his personal and family life as well. In the play, he eventually lobotomizes Rosemary Kennedy (sister of John F. Kennedy), resulting in Rosemary’s complete incapacitation. Freeman is a proud (read: arrogant), self-made, showman in the medical community, with his own dark secrets.
Other characters in the play include Rosemary and Dymphna, a mysterious woman who turns out to be more than she seems. The play is a series of monologues, performed by all three cast members.
NOTE:
This play goes up in 2 weeks! Due to the very short amount of time, we are seeking a highly committed professional who is adept at creating character and can be off book as soon as possible, and who has the time to commit to evening rehearsals several times a week, as well as weekend rehearsals (including the long weekend). Someone who thrives under pressure and would welcome the challenge and opportunity of this role and situation.

Dynamic comedic performances by some of Vancouver’s top “Queens”, breathtaking dance production numbers, gorgeous costumes and astounding scenes are but a taste of this Holiday feature.
Artistic Director, Kevin Kreisz along with lead Choreographer Shawna Parry and choreographer Trevor Kozlow, are looking for 12-16... female dancers and 6-8 male dancers, to join them in this exciting inaugural event by KRK Productions.
We require dancers with training/background in Ballet, Jazz, and Theatrical Dance. Experience in Tap and Musical Theatre will be a benefit. Some roles will require Pointe work (please notify us if you have experience). An honorarium will be provided for each dancer.
Auditions will be held on Friday September 10th at the Harbour Dance Centre and will consist of both Broadway and Ballet choreography.
